Sire/Action Theory Records artists The Maine have announced the release of their new album Black & White. Their major label debut is the follow-up to Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop, the band’s acclaimed first album, which came out on Fearless Records in 2008. The Howard Benson-produced release will hit stores on March 28th 2011. The album is preceded by the single ‘Inside of You’ on March 21st.
Black & White is a departure for the band. "We're trying to go for more of a raw feel - really just a free, loose record," explains front man John O'Callahan. Inspired by the classic sounds of American rock-n-roll, the album is a collection of songs with universal, relatable themes that retain the sense of youthfulness and fun that is distinctly The Maine.
Hailing from Tempe, AZ, The Maine have been writing and recording and touring nonstop since they were barely out of high school. Their songs have garnered a collective 77 million plays on MySpace and they have sold 200k albums, 674k digital singles and racked up 8 million views on YouTube. The five-piece has been a part of four consecutive sold out tours and spent the summer of 2009 as a marquee artist on the entire length of the Van’s Warped Tour.
